Cremation Concerns
As cremation continues to grow in popularity across the country, families are coming to our staff members with questions and concerns about cremation. At Walker Funeral Homes & Crematory, we often hear four common concerns:

Four Common Concerns
1. Receiving the Correct Cremated Remains
You may have heard news stories about families receiving the wrong cremated remains from a crematory or funeral home. At Walker Funeral Homes & Crematory, we believe you should never have to question whether your family will receive the correct cremated remains. We own and operate a state-of-the-art crematory, complete with a comfortable viewing room for families who wish to witness the cremation process. Our certified cremation technicians follow a detailed, 33-step cremation security process that exceeds industry standards. We want every family to trust that they’ll receive their loved one’s cremated remains in a timely manner when they choose our funeral home.
2. Having the Opportunity to Say Goodbye
Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy, and some people try to skip this step. However, failing to say a final farewell to someone you love can intensify the pain of your grief. At Walker Funeral Homes & Crematory, every family is given the opportunity to say goodbye to their loved one in one of our intimate, well-appointed private rooms. If a public visitation is planned, the private farewell is typically scheduled to precede the public gathering. A private farewell is an important practical step in our security procedures that also helps family members grieve their loss.
3. The Timeliness of the Cremation
The timing of the cremation is another major concern for the families we serve. Many families wish to have their loved one present for the visitation/funeral service and the cremated remains available the next day for internment or scattering while the entire family is still gathered. With just one phone call to our crematory operator, your loved one’s cremation can be scheduled to accommodate your family’s needs. Most crematories charge families extra for this type of express service.
4. Deciding What to do With the Cremation Remains
We believe that a funeral does not have to be expensive to be good. We will always provide a meaningful experience that honors the story of a lifetime.
