Toledo/Sylvania Township, OH

The history of Walker Funeral Home in Sylvania dates to 1933 when Alvin W. Walker opened his first funeral chapel on Monroe Street. This funeral home soon became the area’s leading funeral service provider. Decades later, Charlie Wenner and Ray Feilbach joined the funeral home, echoing Alvin’s dedication to accompanying families through loss. Alvin soon opened the Talmadge Park Chapel on Talmadge Road to help even more families in the community honor their loved ones.

In 1995, Talmadge Park Chapel was relocated to our Sylvania Township location, a beautiful, park-like setting positioned across from Stranahan Arboretum and located just off I-475 on the Corey Road exit. This refurbished chapel features modern design details, a spacious foyer, family lounges, and flexible room arrangements to accommodate gatherings of all sizes. A beautiful chandelier and an inviting fireplace create a comforting ambiance. The funeral home also has a veterans’ garden, state-of-the-art audio-visual capabilities, and a space for receptions with catering options available.
