Patricia Anne (Cain) Rupli, age 90, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She left a loving example to her family, friends, and so many who she nurtured, loved and protected.
Born on November 30, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Wilbur and Annie (Valade) Cain, Pat attended Whitmer High School and earned a degree in education from the University of Toledo. She was a proud and lifelong member of her beloved Delta Delta Delta sorority.
On June 22, 1957, she married Richard "Dick" Rupli. The couple initially resided in Sunnyvale, California, before returning to Temperance, Michigan, where they had their three children: Tim, Susan, and Bob. In 1970, they relocated to West Bloomfield, Michigan, where Pat pursued and obtained a Master's degree in Library Science. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an elementary school librarian at Scotch Elementary School in the West Bloomfield School District until her retirement in the late 1990s. In retirement, Pat and Dick divided their time between their home in the Irish Hills of Michigan and winters in Jupiter, Florida, and the Florida Keys.
Pat cherished her many deep and enduring friendships, most notably with her "Jolly Girls" bridge group, with whom she shared companionship, trips, and laughter for more than forty years. She found great joy in gardening, Bible study, travel, and, above all, spending time with her family-particularly her cherished grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wilbur and Annie (Valade) Cain; her husband, Richard "Dick" Rupli; her son, Robert "Bob" Rupli; her sister, Carol (Cain) Schoonmaker; and her brothers, Daniel "Dan" Cain and William "Bill" Cain.
Pat is survived by her son, Tim (Linda) Rupli; her daughter, Susan (Lance) Landeche; her grandchildren, Tim Rupli Jr., Will Rupli, Noelle Rupli, Jordan Rupli, and Carling Landeche; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Cain and Karen Cain; her cousin, Noreen Walton; her aunt, Shirley (Cain) Harbaugh; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will treasure her memory.
