In 1959, when I was 4 years old we moved next door the Nicholas' . Matina was like a second mother to me. I remember knocking on their door early Saturday mornings during the summer to see if Elaine could play. Everyone was sleeping except Matina. I'm sure it drove her crazy but she always made me feel welcomed—like family. I am so grateful for all the wonderful Greek food, dancing and family gatherings I enjoyed. She was a big part of my life and I will remember her with love, always. My condolences to the whole family. May your beloved memories comfort you at this difficult time.

Zack & April wish to express their sincere condolences & fondly remember the times Matina's spry, fun-loving spirit enlivened our lives. Her travels to Greece & the Bahamas and her wide social network in Ohio, Michigan & Florida illustrate her strong zest for life. The photo of Matina in the front seat of a convertible around the time of her 84th birthday illustrates how much fun a day could be with her.
