Kathleen V. Denman passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was born in Toledo to Robert and Violet (Mock) Pearsall. She attended Burnham High School in Sylvania. Kathy was a lifelong hairdresser and also worked in many roles at Sylvania Schools. Her favorite role and the one she was best at was being a mother and grandmother. She taught her children how to preservere through hard times and to celebrate the good times. She was tough but tender, tenacious, protective, animal lover, creative and had great attention to detail that made everyone feel special. Kathy lived through her children and grandchildren and enjoyed their accomplishments. Some of her greatest memories were spending summers with family and friends at Lost Peninsula Marina enjoying Lake Erie on their pontoon boat and attending the sporting events of children and grandchildren. Kathy was an excellent hostess and family event coordinator. Holidays were particularly special and she could turning ordinary days into celebrations with big spreads of food. If you attended one of her parties, you never went home hungry. She always found a reason or way to get family together. Family was always the center of her life and she loved the laughter and the funny stories. She treasured babysitting for her grandchildren and the grand dogs. She had a way of making all the grandkids feel special and had favorite individualized activities and traditions with each one. Just ask her grandchildren, she had the best goodie cupboard ever. She was a talented flower gardener, enjoyed birdhouses and shopping online. She will be remembered most as an incredibly loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; children, Lori (Dave) Ziegler, Brent (Robin) Call, Jason Call, Nikki (Bob) Heckman, Lindsi Denman; grandchildren, David “Newt,” Dawson, Cooper, Makayla “May,” Cameron, Harper; brothers, Ken (Diane) Pearsall and Glenn (Diane) Pearsall and her grand dog, Betsy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Millie.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 25 from 2-9 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Toledo Humane Society or Graham's Foundation in support of preemie parents. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Anne's Critical Care Unit as well as the Sylvania Township first responders.
