I was so very sad to read in Sunday’s Blade that Jim had passed. I was his dental hygienist in Toledo for many years and grew very fond Jim. He came to my oldest daughter’s pole vaulting meets and would cut out the stats from the paper from my youngest daughter’s tennis matches and send them to me in the mail. He would even take the time to call me every now and then just to see how my family was doing after health issues caused him to change dental offices. I definitely missed visiting with him. He was such a happy and loving man and shared in the joys and accomplishments of others. I pray the happy and loving memories you have of your husband and father, grandfather bring you peace and comfort. You were all blessed to have him in your family. He will be missed. Kim Langendefer

Dear Sue and Family: How do you eulogize 65 plus years of friendship? It's easy when it comes to remembering Jim. He was serious, but full of fun and memories for all the Theta Chi brothers and their spouses. Jim was in our wedding and his friendship was never in doubt nor was his respect and love for Tom and me. My eyes are full of tears right now, but know that Jim's life had value and he lived it fully his way. I'm sure that he is entertaining everyone up in heaven with another one of his stories. Cherish the memories! Tom and Joyce Bettinger

I want to express how sorry Iam for the familys loss. There are some very comforting words found in Gods Word, the Bible, at Acts the 17th. chapter, verses 24 & 25 where God is called "the source of life"......the One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to our loved ones who have died. Another comforting scripture is found in the Bible book of Job, the 14th. chapter, verses 14 & 15. It speaks about how God longs to bring back those who are in His memory & see them live on earth again. I hope this brings the family comfort. My sincere condolence to you & yours. 'Be not afraid, I go before you always. Come, follow Me, and I will give you rest'. May Jesus our God of comfort hold you all in the palm of His hand as you remember and celebrate James' life legacy. Through the different seasons of life jwfacts.org has been a valuable resource and we thoughtfully share.
