Teresa and family, my deepest prayers and condolences with the passing of Howard. He was certainly a pillar in the community and the backbone of such a wonderful family. My fondest memories were pointing out the Ohio State themed Bowling Alley on Conant Street to everyone in the car with me as we drove by...and stopping to say a quick hello and "Go Bucks" at one the best Ohio State tailgate spots in Columbus. Matt, Teresa, Mike, Melissa, Mart and extended family...God Bless. Bob Wanucha

I am devastated to read of Howard’s passing! My mother and father, Ernestine and Donald Koontz, introduced me to Howard and Theresa many years ago, and at many Historic St. Patrick’s events I enjoyed meeting their family as well! They stand out in my memory as the quintessential Maumee founders, in the same company as Franny and Dick Anderson, my parents, and many others. Howard was generous with his support of my political endeavors, and schooled me on the importance of conviction, ethics, morals and the hard work I would need to sacrifice to contribute to Maumee’s growth and evolution! I didn’t have enough time with you, Mr. Teifke! You will be missed by many!

Now and in the days ahead, may Jesus our God of comfort, Emmanuel, hold you all closely in the palm of His hand as you remember and celebrate Howard's life legacy. We are very grateful for his military service in the US Army Air Corps, having defended the freedoms that we enjoy today in our patriotic country. Howard's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. 'Be not afraid, I go before you always. Come, follow Me, and I will give you rest'. I’m sending my sincere condolences to the Teifke family and friends. This is one of life’s greatest challenges that we have to face. The Bible offers much comfort for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. John 5:28-29 shows us how there will be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death. Revelation 21:4 speaks of a time when death will be no more. If you would like to learn more details about this, please visit Jw.org for the answer to many of life’s questions.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Hello Mike. I was saddened to just learn of your father's death. Howard Teifke; Maumee icon, civic leader, successful businessman, father, friend, and neighbor. A man bigger than life and one who lived it to the fullest. That patriot and combat veteran was a man you wanted in your corner, yet always tender and compassionate towards the innocent and the needy and always a benefactor to a good cause. He will be recalled by all with a reminiscent smile and deep respect. May he rest in Peace. Your 'ole pal from grade school; Dan McCartney

To Howard's loved ones, One of the finest people I ever knew was Howard Teifke. Honorable, caring, warm, always-find-a-way-to-make-things-happen, that's how I remember him. When I learned of his East Side(ness), I felt an instant connection. I will never forget a man who was on my side, cheering me on, and helping to make junior bowling an even greater experience for young people. I am saddened for your loss but am so happy you had so many years with him. God soothe your saddened hearts. love, Dave
