My grandmother has inspired me with her steady faith, gentle kindness, generosity and humble strength. The world around her couldn’t help but notice the light that radiated from her. I am thankful that I was her granddaughter - covered in years of prayers, care, and love. I am also thankful to be a part of a loving family influenced by her example. She is missed already, but I look forward to the day we meet again.

Freda was a beautiful woman and had such a wonderful sense of humor. She was a great friend to my mom and I will always remember her as a loving/caring Girl Scout Leader. She was always inclusive and was a great example to girls. I did not get to see her for a long time but I imagine her impact on people was as positive in her later years as in her younger years. May her family be comforted by the fact that Freda lived her life pleasing to the Lord.

I want to express how sorry Iam for the familys loss. There are some very comforting words found in Gods Word, the Bible, at Acts the 17th. chapter, verses 24 & 25 where God is called "the source of life"......the One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to our loved ones who have died. Another comforting scripture is found in the Bible book of Job, the 14th. chapter, verses 14 & 15. It speaks about how God longs to bring back those who are in His memory & see them live on earth again. I hope this brings the family comfort. My sincere condolence to you & yours. I have fond memories of my Grandma Freda growing up,healing from my broken arm at her house when I was at UT and my parents were out of town, going to college and staying at her place as well as being a next door neighbor on Westwood. As a child Grandma would read a story to me and sing to me and I would look at her thimbles and listen and watch intently at her music boxes especially the one with a blue bird that played Somewhere over the Rainbow. I would play for hours with her different coasters and mini Tupperware set as a kid. I remember if I stayed the night there grandma and grandpa would get KFC and we'd get oreos out of a metal tin can or the stove I believe is another place she stored things. Grandma was a good cook and I loved hearing her tell stories. I wish I was able to have learned more from her in my adult years about her and grandpa's families. I loved my Gram and she has left a true legacy that I will remember. She has touched soooo many people's lives in a positive way. I will miss you Gram.

The Bible declares, for a believer, that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". May Jesus our God of comfort hold you all in the palm of His hand as you remember Freda's life legacy and celebrate her homegoing to Heaven, alive and well in the presence of our risen Lord. She will not be forgotten in the hearts of all who knew her. jwfacts.org has been a valuable resource and we thoughtfully share. 'I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown'.

I’m sending my sincere condolences to the Stopher family and friends. This is one of life’s greatest challenges that we have to face. Jesus said, did, and promised something that gives us comfort and hope. In the Bible at John 11:11-14, Jesus likened death to sleep. This comfort us in two ways: 1) we are assured by those words that our loved ones are not suffering or in pain. 2) If a person is just sleeping, he will wake up! Notice what Jesus does next at John 11:43-44, this is amazing! Jesus promised us something similar at John 5:28-29, what a beautiful hope we have! If you would like to know more details about this, please download a free copy of the brochure Good News from God @Jw.org. and read lesson 6 along with the Bible.
