Kind. Humble. Caring. Those are the first words that come to mind about Dr. Rai. From the first day I met him walking the halls of St. Charles Hospital as a young new doctor to the last day I encountered him visiting his patients at work , through the years he never changed. I would run into him at school events or at Churchill’s and there he’d be with that big smile proudly talking about his kids. He will be surely missed. Kiran, I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with your father , Dr. Hegde. He was a wonderful compassionate doctor much loved not only by his patients but loved and highly respected by the all staff at St. Charles Hosoital. And during your sweet brother Krathick’s much too short time with us, he was equally loved and respected as well. It has been my honor to have worked with these three fine and caring men. Their compassion for those they cared for was truly evident. Please know that my heart and prayers go out to you and your family at this time of sadness. With much sympathy, Verni Falter, RN
