Even his voice smiled; I never knew that possible. I'm so glad our paths crossed, and I will never be the same because of him.

When I heard you passed away Doug, it stopped me cold in my tracks. I just cried and remembered the times I worked at Strayer and you would be happy as can be, you would give me a hug and a kiss on my cheek and vise versa. You would tell me how much you appreciated me and loved me and that just made my day. You will be missed dearly. God got one great angel when he took you. Love, Peg

Dear Pat, My husband and I had the opportunity to meet you recently at a Zoo function, at which time we shared stories of our very special loved ones, as well as our connections to Sunshine. Having previously met Doug at Sunshine functions, we have no doubt that he'll be greatly missed, and furthermore, that he is now one of the most vibrant angels in Heaven. May he rest in peace and may eternal light shine upon him! Judith and Joe Conda

I remember helping Doug carry the Torch for the Olympics when they went through Maumee. He had a grip on that Torch so tight and a smile wider than the flame! He always amazed me with his memory, positive attitude and mostly with his compassion! Couldn't help but love the wonder Gift from God! I will miss seeing his smiling face and that request "Can I get a hug". Rest in God's glorious Peace my friend! Prayers for you, Pat! LOL

Doug made my day, every single day. I have the things that he made me in art class. My favorite has been on my shelf, right where I see it, since he gave it to me. I framed it and I can't believe that it's not pink. Xoxo

I have known Doug for many years, mostly through his original Occupational Therapist, Sharon. You had a wonderful man in your home. You were certainly right referring to Doug’s unforgettable smile. I last saw him at his friend Lori’s time at the funeral home. I send many wishes of comfort. Rest In Peace, Douglas! You will be missed!
