Chris, your contributions to Port Clinton and Ottawa County will forever be remembered. Your footprints on your journey through life left an everlasting impression in the minds and on the souls of those you helped and served. God's plan for you is not yet completed for....:.His master said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your master - (Matthew 25:23). Thank you for all you have done - Condolences from the staff of Ottawa County Senior Resources

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Chris' death. I had the privilege of working with her in many ways to help people in Ottawa County. Our most recent connections were through the Ottawa County Community Foundation and the Business Advisory Council of the Ottawa County Schools. She will be greatly missed both for what she did for others and for who she was as a person. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy go out to her family.

Chris volunteered to sit on the Erie/Ottawa County Mental Health and Recovery Board over the years, and this was where I met her. Her outreach was incredible, and it extended well beyond all borders. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, and everyone who knew and loved her. Rest in God's peace Chris. You will be missed! Sandi Carpenter

Chris was my cousin. I didn’t get to meet her until she came to my wedding 30 years ago. I wish I had met her sooner and been able to spend more time with her. I could tell she was a good soul and such a lovely person. I was so sad to hear she had passed. Wishing comfort in memories to her children and grandchildren.

I have known Chris for 25 years and each one was a joy. She was a colleague of mine at United Way, but she was also my friend - as she is to so many. I loved her spirit and her ability to adopt wild abandonment at times! She improved so many lives and inspired so many. It is almost impossible to imagine a time without her. She had many, many talents - and one of her strongest was building community. A blessing to us all. Jane Moore

Chris, you were relentless in your pursuit of what you believed in, and you brought along anyone who was within your reach. I will miss your "ah ha" moments and the joy you took in watching us come to our own "ah ha's." To your family, I am sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the impact this is having on each of you. God bless and keep you strong.
Michael Rowan left a message on March 25, 2019:
Chris was part of a very small group of friends who welcomed me into their virtual midst to discuss politics, recovery, and life in general. We were so excited for her retirement and avidly followed her Columbian trip updates. For someone that I never met, she exercised an outsized influence in my life. I admired her faith, her love of family, and of community, and looked up to her as an example of a well-lived life. She is one of my heroes. Please know the net of her impact was cast wide and in waters you might not have even known she was sailing in. I suspect there are many, like me, whose lives she touched that her family wasn't aware of. Please know she is loved and will be missed very much by so very many.

Is it possible to still be stunned .. from your sudden and horrible onslaught of flu to your miraculous seeming recovery to the news your soul had fled the earth? You gave and gave and helped me and so many others with getting through life. You were a shining light for Marty (z"l) and your children and grands and all those who had any contact with you. It is impossible to think that you are no longer with us on earth. Your life will carry on through the examples you gave and set and through your children and grandchildren. May your memory, dearest Chris, forever be a blessing. Joel and I loved you with all our hearts.

JANET MITCHELL left a message on March 23, 2019:
I want to extend my sincere condolences .This is one of life’s greatest challenges that we have to face. The Bible offers much comfort for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. John 5:28-29 shows us how there will be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death. Revelation 21:4 speaks of a time when death will be no more. What a blessing it will be when death is no more and to look forward to a time when we will see our loved ones again. If you would like to learn more details about this, please visit Jw.org for the answer to many of life’s questions. Sincerely, Janet
