I had the honor and privilege of being Al's 'guardian' on Honor Flight in 2012. Always the gentleman, even though I was to be helping him, he always wanted me to go first. It was a blistering hot day-- 105degrees- but he was a trooper. We put ice soaked cloths on our necks and viewed the memorials. Two of his grandchildren were able to visit us during lunch time. He loved that. We kept in touch with Christmas cards after our trip. My sympathy to the family. I'm happy I got to spend the day with him. -Jennie Buckenberger

Al & Eileen became some of our first friends after we started going to St. Pius X church through their daughter, Anne. Al & Eileen used to sit behind us in church and when it came to the shaking of hands at the kiss of peace, I had to remember not to wear a ring on my right hand because he would try to take it off. LOL They were so nice. I know they have been reunited. RIH Al & Eileen. We will miss seeing Al in the back of church and giving him a hug. Pat & Ozzie Diaz
