Zainab Mary Adams

March 8, 1961 — February 13, 2010

Adams Zainab Mary Zainab Adams departed this earth on February 13, 2010 to join her Lord and the community of heaven. She was born March 8, 1961 in Malaysia and at 7 years old moved to the Detroit area. In the late 1980s she met her soul mate and husband-to-be, Tim Adams from Toledo. Zainab was a devoted Christian, strong in faith and very active in her church community. Zainab was an anointer in the Cleansing Stream Ministry at The Church on Strayer. Zainab will mostly be remembered for her infectious smile and a heart that never stopped giving. She was a sincere and devoted wife, mother and friend who had a strong set of values from which she never wavered and a can-do attitude like no other. A sign that her daughter made for her that read, I can do it! was prominently displayed in her room. It was an attitude she instilled in her husband and children. Zainab was also known for her meticulously coordinated outfits and flawless appearance. A hair stylist by trade she definitely practiced what she preached. Zainabis survived by her husband, Tim; children, Sebastian and Briana; mother, Halijah Heminger; stepfather, John Heminger; siblings, Hamida Hani Ghoteimi, Hashim Heminger, and Hazimah Jesse Sovoda; father-in-law and mother in-law, John and Frances Adams; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Mary Adams and nephew, Zachary Adams. We love you and will miss you, Zainab. Special thanks and gratitude go to her family and friends, the pastor and congregation of The Church on Strayer, the students, parents and teachers of St. Joan of Arc School, and her caregivers at Regency Hospital. A very special thank you goes to the health care team, too many of whom there are to mention, in the ER and Medical Critical Care Unit at The University of Toledo Medical Center. The professionalism and compassion shown by these individuals was second to none and they will always be extended members of Zainabs family. The Zainab M. Adams Scholarship for Critical Care Health Professionals has been created to honor her legacy and to assist future critical care healthcare providers to reach their dreams and make a difference in the lives of others. Please make checks payable to the UT Foundation and the name of the scholarship.
