Yvonne June Parrot, 95, of Catawba Island, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Otterbein Northshore Senior Living in Lakeside, Ohio. Born on June 10, 1930, in Cresson, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Groves) Bingham.
On May 16, 1951, she united in marriage with her beloved husband, George Thomas Parrot, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2013. Together, they laid the foundation for a life rooted in companionship, joy, and shared experiences. Yvonne grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and later moved to Akron, where she dedicated many years as a secretary at the family business, Kenmore Lumber, retiring in 1989.
In retirement, Yvonne and George reveled in the pleasures of life on Catawba Island, where they would often retreat to their cabin at Lac Sandeau in Quebec for cherished summer fishing trips, while spending their winters basking in the warmth of Florida. Their unwavering bond was evident to all who knew them, as they treasured every moment spent together, always prioritizing family gatherings over all else.
Yvonne is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Suzanne "Suzie" (Bob) Troxel, and son, Tom Parrot (Linda), all of Catawba Island. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren-Nicole (John) Lanning, Sean (Liz) Parrot, and Steven (Annie) Parrot- and her great-grandchildren, June and George Lanning, Jackson and Evelyn Parrot, and Everett and Adelyn Parrot. Also surviving her is her devoted sister, Linda Kovach, her nieces, Nancy, Amy and nephew Mike and her faithful canine companion, Annabelle.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Pete (Annie) Bingham.
In accordance with Yvonne's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of her remarkable life will be held Friday June 5, from 2-5 pm at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio.
