Yvonne Vivian Heminger, 92, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away on November 18, 2022, at her home at Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She was born on July 31, 1930, in Woodville, Ohio to Frank and Helen (Bullock) Sprow and was married to James C. Heminger, also of Woodville, in 1957.
Yvonne was retired after working for many years as an Executive Assistant for Medicare Equipment Supply in Toledo. She was a longtime active and integral member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Toledo. She served as President of the UMW (United Methodist Women) for many years, was a proud Lay Delegate to the West Ohio Annual Methodist Conference and served as the church volunteer Wedding Coordinator for many years. She was active with the annual Bazaar where her home baked Pie of the Month was a hot ticket at the silent auction. Yvonne also volunteered at the Friendly Center and Goerlich Center in Toledo. In her later years while living at Kingston, Yvonne enjoyed arts and craft projects, Bingo, and birdwatching. She will be remembered as the first to offer support to her church, neighbors, and family, as well as her quick wit, ready smile, and talent to bring people together; she was a real diplomat.
Yvonne is predeceased by her husband James and survived by her loving children, Steve (Mahala Bundy) Heminger and Beth Heminger; grandchildren, Sam Heminger, Anne (Ben Singer) Heminger; and great grandchildren, Wren and Gemma Singer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 10 am in Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 Central Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43615. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 am with a luncheon to follow at noon at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice Toledo or St. Paul’s Community Center in Toledo. Condolences can be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
