Our beautiful mother and grandmother, Yvonne Alta Diller age 85 of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Toledo on April 27, 1938, to LeRoy W. and Ruthella (Frederick) Cook.
Yvonne will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandkids, her famous homemade noodles during the holidays, her generosity and her unconditional love for others. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and writing in her daily journal. Yvonne had a strong love for the Lord and shared her faith with many children and grandchildren. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and sang in the choir. Yvonne had a passion for gardening and participated in the Maumee Garden Tour in 2014 when she lived in her Dudley St. home in uptown Maumee.
Surviving are her children, Robert Diller Jr., Kathy Strub, Wendy Valdez, Susan (Pacho) Valdez, Bonnie (John) Quinn, Teresa Bergquist, Larry Diller and Shawn Diller; 32 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; Also surviving are her daughter in-laws, Julie Diller and Sandy (Dave) Modene; brothers, Bill Cook and Mike (Nancy) Cook; sister in-law, Mary Cook; many nieces and nephews and her canine companion, Louis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Diller Sr.; son, Spud Diller, granddaughter, Shanna Diller; grandson, Zac Diller; grandson in-law, Matthew Foreman; brother, Glenn Cook and niece, Mary Ann (Cook) Hall.
Friends and family will be received at Calvary Church, 1360 Conant St., on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the exceptional care our mother received in her last days. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
