Wynne M. Shanteau, 80, of Oak Harbor died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Parkcliffe of Northwood. She was born on December 11, 1932 in Sandusky County, OH to Dale and Helen Snyder Hasselbach. On December 15, 1951 in Oak Harbor she married Leslie E. Shanteau and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2006. Wynne worked as a cashier for Nehls Grocery in Oak Harbor and for Krogers in Fremont for 20 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, Oak Harbor American Legion Post #114 Auxiliary, Cooley Canal Yacht Club, and the Moose Lodge #1610, Port Clinton. Wynne enjoyed sewing and gardening, especially her flowers. Wynne is survived by her children: Chuck Shanteau, Tim Veronica Shanteau, and Wendy Virgil St. Clair all of Oak Harbor, daughter-in-laws: Becky Scherf and Pat Shanteau of Oak Harbor, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister: Betty Collins, and brother: William Karen Hasselbach. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Marcia Kayden, sons: Tom and Terry Shanteau, grandson: Robert Shanteau, and great granddaughter: Bailey Scherf. Visitation will be Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2- 8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor where funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Debra Domeier at 11 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2013. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions in memory of Wynne may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or Heartland Hospice.
