Winnifred A Kerscher

Winnifred Ann Wini Kerscher age 80 of Maumee, OH and Monclova, OH passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in St. Lukes Hospital. Wini was born May 21, 1934 the eldest of eight children to Leonard and Deloris Spohn. She attended the University of Iowa and was a switchboard operator and a secretary to Fred Maytag of the Maytag Corporation in Iowa. Wini was also voted Miss Newton Iowa of 1953. She met her husband, Duane in Kirksville, Missouri while he was attending medical school and they married in 1954. Wini was a member of St. Josephs Church in Maumee and a past president of Parkview Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was an interior decorator and enjoyed gardening, especially roses. Her biggest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Wini was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kaye Swanson. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Dr. Duane Kerscher, Sr.; sons Duane (Susan) Kerscher, Jr., David (Cindie) Kerscher, and Jeffrey (Micaela) Kerscher; daughter Lisa (David Williams) Kerscher; grandchildren William, Benjamin, Claire, Justin, Jordan, Michelle, Kelly, Destiny, Tina and Joshua; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Richard Beaver, Gary Ryan and Doug Humphrey; and sisters Marilyn Humke, Judy Lapp and Nancy Lee Buckley. Friends may visit the family at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Saturday 26, 2014 from 6-8 PM and Sunday from 2-6 PM where a Scripture Service will be held Sunday at 5 PM. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Josephs Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery.
