Winifred G Hilfinger

Winifred G. Hilfinger, age 80, of Maumee, Ohio passed away April 7, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on April 20, 1935 to John A. and Grace (Cahoon) Geyer. Wini graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and taught at Hoag Center and the Toledo Public Schools for 20 years. Wini married the love of her life, Ronald A. Hilfinger on July 7, 1956. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Wini was an avid tennis player when she was younger and golfer; as an adult she enjoyed drawing and painting. She gave generously to her community by volunteering at Hospice, Meals on Wheels and Crosby Gardens. Wini will be greatly missed by her husband, Ronald Hilfinger; children, Julie (Todd) Wilson, John (Laila) Hilfinger, Sara (William) Costello and Tom (Shauna) Hilfinger; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Vance. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM with funeral service to begin at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery.
