Wilma J. “Jeanie” Yount, 76, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born on September 2, 1948, in Port Clinton to William and Ruby (Weimann) Vollmer.
Jeanie was a proud 1966 graduate of Port Clinton High School. On July 20, 1970, she married Bernie Yount, who preceded her in death in 1986. She dedicated 35 years to her career in the quality control department at Silgan Plastics, retiring in 2009.
A devoted Cleveland Indians fan, Jeanie found joy in tending to her flower garden and keeping her lawn immaculate. She especially cherished her weekly shopping and lunch outings with her great-grandson, Theo.
Jeanie’s memory will be lovingly carried on by her son, William L. (Karol) Yount; daughter, Sheila K. Vollmer; granddaughters, Kaylee Vollmer, Samantha Vollmer, and Jeryka Brixen; grandson, Jacob Brixen; great-grandson, Theo Vollmer; and sister, Debora Shiets. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Michael Vollmer, and brothers, Terry Vollmer and John Vollmer.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH, with family present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Deron Fourman. Interment will follow at LaCarpe Cemetery, LaCarne, OH.
