Wilma Schafer

Schafer Wilma E. Billie Wilma E. Billie Schafer, age 79, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh, MI. Billie was born in Toledo, OH to Robert and Dorothy Dykes on October 22, 1929. She retired from the Libbey Glass Factory after working as an inspector for 19 years and then began a second career with Gladieux Foods as a cook and caterer. Billie loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Billie is survived by her son, Michael Schafer; grandson, Christopher Schafer; and her adopted granddaughter, Sherry Demski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Schafer; son, Robert Schafer; and her companion for fifteen years, Richard Ankney. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where services will follow at 4:00pm.
