Willis M. Crowell

July 23, 1931 — July 18, 2023

Willis M. Crowell, 91, of Sylvania, passed away after a brief illness, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Otterbein Sunset Village. He was born in Chicago, IL to Elbridge H. and Jeanne (McCubbin) Crowell on July 23, 1931. Willis “Woody” graduated from Whitmer High School, where he met the love of his life, Margaret “Marge” Clabaugh. They were married just shy of 72 years. Willis was in the construction business and served and retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves, Combat Engineers, commonly known as The Seabees. His outgoing personality and experience in construction lead him into the field of sales where he focused on building materials and kitchen cabinetry. He was also a 33rd Degree Mason with the Sylvania Masonic Lodge. Willis and Marge retired to Florida where they enjoyed living for over twenty years, before returning to the Toledo area to be near family.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Marge Crowell; children, Kathy (Chuck) Crites, Kenn (Julie) Crowell, Kevin (Kathy) Crowell; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many business associates and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin siblings, Jim Crowell and Dottie Arft; and great-granddaughter, Allison.

A memorial gathering will be held at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania on Saturday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. for family and close friends. Arrangements handled by Walker Funeral Home, Toledo. Online condolences to the family may be made at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
