William Donald Webb, M.D.

W. Donald Webb M.D., age 79, of Whitehouse, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on Monday July 13, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born on August 24, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio to Charles and Mary (Chaffin) Webb. As a baby, Don and his family moved to Cleveland and lived there until he was 12. The family then relocated to the Toledo area where he attended DeVeaux grade school. Don and his family later returned to the Cleveland area where he graduated from Shaker Heights High School. During his years in Shaker Heights, he developed some lifelong friendships and a love of the Cleveland Browns. He would continue his education at Ohio Wesleyan University where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Following his time at Ohio Wesleyan, Don served in the United States Air Force and attended Yale University school of Chinese language. His fluency in Mandarin brought him to the island of Formosa (Taiwan) where he enjoyed 3 very interesting years as an interpreter for the Air Force. At last, he returned to Ohio where he pursued and obtained his medical degree from The Ohio State University. William served a dual residency at Indiana University in the fields of General and Vascular surgery. He became a surgeon and moved to Pulaski, Virginia, his mother’s home town. Coming back to Toledo, he would become an ER Doctor for the Toledo Hospital where he helped save lives for over 30 years. Don was one of the original owners of Maumee Urgent Care Center, a small medical center in the heart of Maumee that served this riverside community’s many bumps, breaks, bruises, coughs and sniffles. Don had many loves in his life. Foremost was his family to which he was always dedicated. Then, always by his side, and hoping for a snack, were his dogs. Don enjoyed travel (particularly to the Caribbean and Mexico), devouring books, crossword puzzles, (and anything to do with the English language) and cooking, (especially with a nice glass of wine). Don is survived by his wife, Marcie; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Rodriguez, son Michael Webb, son, Tony (Debbie) Siciliano, daughter, Darcy Gill and son, John (Jennifer) Gill; 7 grandchildren and brother, Charles (Sarah Campbell) Webb. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends will be received from 10:00A.M. on August 1st at St. Clare Commons, 12469 Five Point Road, Perrysburg, Ohio.
