William H. Tubbs, 70, of Lakeside, Ohio passed away on October 21, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on July 29, 1952 in Lakewood, Ohio, the son of James and Martha (Hill) Tubbs.
He was a 1970 graduate of Lakewood High School, and went on to college at Cleveland State University where he graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Bill‘s work career included Union Commerce Bank later becoming Huntington Bank, Crucible Steel Casting and Aardvark Pallet Company from where he retired to take care of his mother.
An avid lover of stringed instruments, especially banjos, ukuleles, and mandolins, his hobby was to reassemble banjos and other instruments from parts. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, doing jigsaw and wooden puzzles and taking care of stray animals. One, a cat he named Oreo, still comes around looking for him. He especially enjoyed being with his family where he was known as everyone’s favorite Uncle Bill. He was always willing to help anyone in need and took great pride in sharing cherries from the cherry tree in his front yard.
Survivors include his sister, Lynn (Warren) Comiskey, Orange Park, Florida: brothers, Steve (Kathy) Tubbs, Trussville, Alabama and Bob (Janet) Tubbs, Laurel, Maryland: seven nieces and nephews; and thirteen great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Richard Tubbs; and brother, James Tubbs.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11 am at the Lakeside United Methodist Church, 450 Central Avenue, Lakeside, Ohio. All are welcome!

The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements.
