William G. Toothacker

Bill G. Whitey Toothacker age 91 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Lakes of Monclova. Bill was born in Birmingham, MI on July 6, 1926 to Foster and Dora (Bates) Toothacker. He married Betty Jane Roberts on May 7, 1949 and were married 56 years until her passing in 2005. Bill attended Michigan State University and majored in engineering. While attending MSU, he met the Andersons boys and was eventually recruited by them to relocate to Maumee to help them and their dad, Harold Anderson, to engineer the grain elevators. Bill retired from the Andersons after 35 years. He also attended UT and BGSU. Bill was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Maumee for 50 years. Bill enjoyed bird watching; photography at his cabin on the AuSable River in Michigan and his many trips to Wyoming. Surviving are his daughters, Christine (Jack) Toothacker Arkles of California; Carol (Michael) Toothacker Reese of Michigan; grandchildren, William Arkles, Ashley (Arkles) Bride, Melissa (Reese) Buckholtz, Melanie (Reese) Peterson and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Betty, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Alita Green and Joan Green.
