On December 4, 2021, William John Thieman died in Toledo, OH at St. Vincents Hospital. He was 80 years old. William Thieman was born on July 20, 1941, in Toledo, OH at St. Vincents Hospital. He went to Maumee High School and then went on to join the Air Force. He worked for Chrysler in Toledo, OH, and drove a Semi-truck for Matlack. William married Anne Schmitz on January 2, 1965, at Rosary Cathedral. They welcomed their first child on July 10, 1967, Maria followed by Tony (1969), Julie (1971), Mark (1975), Matt (1976), Anne (1978), and Heidi (1982). He loved to sail on Lake Erie with his friends and go boating with his children and grandchildren. Loved spending time with his children. He sang in Barber Shop Quartet at Gesu Church. He liked to fly fish and play the bongos. William Thieman is survived by former wife Anne Thieman and children as followed Maria Dewitt (Dave), Tony Thieman, Julie Bollett (Scott), Mark Thieman (Elaine), Matt Thieman (Amanda), Anne Smith (Glenn), & Heidi Reams (Josh). Grandkids and great-grandchildren: Amanda Leverenz (Ruby) and Michael Dewitt (Aura, Cheyenne, and Dominic Dewitt), Chloe, Andrew Hackney (Krissy) (Samuel & Karlene Hackney), Marrissa Gould (Nick) (Aldea Jean & Murphee Jo), Cole Keeler, Chase Keeler (Zuko Keeler), Joseph Wright (Anna), Elijah Thieman, Caleb Thieman, Krista Smith, Lisa Smith, Glenn Smith III, Ayden Reams, Zoey Reams, Julia Franz, and Madelyn Franz. And predeceased by his mother and father Mary & William Thieman, brothers David and Tony Thieman, and sister Rosalie Thieman. His surviving siblings Mary Jo Bosch (Ron), Joe Thieman (Jan), John Thieman (Pam), Mike Thieman (Joyce), Helen Zbierajewski (Frank), Cheryl Thieman, Tom Thieman (Kim), Larry Thieman (Kathy), Chris Thieman (Carol). Friends and family will be received Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551. Visitation will continue Monday, December 13, 2021 at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11 am. Down all the Highways that you travel, blacktop, stone, and even gravel. On every journey through and through, May God’s angels ride with you.
