William H. Stoner, 78, of Genoa, Ohio, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, Ohio after a lengthy illness. He was born in Wood County on June 9, 1940, the son of Jesse and Myrtle (Freed) Stoner. He married Margaret M. (Heintschel) in Toledo, Ohio on August 10, 1963 and she survives. Bill was a proud member of Teamsters Local 20. He drove truck for several companies retiring in 1997 from the Dayton Freight Company. He was a man who loved his family and friends and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and watching their sporting events, always cheering them on. He liked to bowl and had great fun doing so at the former Clay Center Bowling Alley. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret, daughter, Jodi L. Stoner, grandsons, Tyler Baird, Rylen Stoner and Reid Stoner, siblings, Dr. John (Marge) Stoner, Marilyn Brown and Kathleen (Robert) Purney. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Stoner, siblings, Jesselyn Rowland and Jerry Stoner as well as his parents. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main St., Genoa, OH 43430. Visitation will be from 3-5 & 6-8 PM, on Monday, October 8, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Donors Choice. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Bay Park ICU and Allen Clay Joint Fire District, Station #35 for their loving care and compassion during Bills illness.
