William E. Rose passed away July 15, 2009 at the age of 67. William was born December 30, 1941 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, son of the late Arnold and Alberta Rose of Beaver, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Beaver Area High School, attended Lehigh University and received his Masters Degree in EconomicsMath from the University of Pittsburgh. He was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the Honor Society in Economics and was the Grand Master of the local Demolay Chapter. William was also a veteran of the Viet Nam War. William started his career in Pension Administration, Finance & Risk Insurance with Gulf Oil Company in Pittsburgh. His career path eventually took his family to living in various cities across the United States. While living in Toledo, he worked for Libbey Owens Ford and Trinova Corporation where he was appointed Assistant Treasurer. In 1993, he left the corporate life and started his own company, Rose Investment Services. He also served the community by being on the Boards of the Ability Center of Greater Toledo, the former Toledo Crittenden Services, and the Toledo Community Foundation. He also consulted for many other organizations and church foundations throughout the area. William also taught BankingInvestment classes at the University of Toledo and wrote an article, Risk Management in Defined Contribution Plans for the Journal of Investing magazine. William is a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally Grant Rose; daughter, Holly Rose Westrick Greg Westrick; son, Scott Jody of Springfield, Virginia; granddaughter, Erin Westrick; brother, Rev. Dale Kristy Rose of Los Angeles and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey J. Higgens of Las Vegas. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. for visitation. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ability Center of Toledo, the Salvation Army, or to the Franciscan Care Center.
