William Cletis Rister

William Cletis Rister, 85, of Port Clinton, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 surrounded by his family at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born on September 8, 1927 in Rexton, KY to Marion and Hattie Wilburn Rister. On June 23, 1951 in Oak Harbor he married Helen M. Whipple, and she survives. William worked as a forklift operator for U.S. Gypsum for 38 years, retiring in 1989. In addition to his loving wife, Helen, of 61 years, he is survived by sons: Ronald and Mark Rister both of Oak Harbor, son: Gary Martha Rister of Port Clinton, daughters: Sheila Steve Priddy of Oak Harbor and Penny Denny Fetter of Millbury, 7 grandchildren: Stephanie Jeff Anderson Priddy, Stacie Bob Rife, Jeffrey Susie, and Ashley all of Oak Harbor, Nickie, Christopher, and Brian Fetter all of Millbury, 7 great grandchildren: his baby - Samantha, Kelsey, Kahli all of Oak Harbor, Sierra, Nautica, Michael, and Damian all of Millbury, brothers: Harold of Florida, Junior of AZ, and Paul Eugene Rister of OH, and sister: Clotine of VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, 2 sons, and brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor with visitation from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow in LaCarpe Cemetery, LaCarne. Memorial contributions in memory of William may be given in care of the family or to a charity of the donors choice.
