William Jason Rinehart

May 16, 1974 — January 28, 2021

William Jason Rinehart passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 28, following several years of declining health. Jason was born May 16, 1974 in Toledo to William Jesse and Sandra Lee (Niedzwiecki) Rinehart. In Toledo, Jason attended Lincolnshire and Monac grade schools and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1992. Jason went on to attend the Ohio State University and the University of Toledo. It was during those college years that he and his sister Dawn both worked at Barry Bagel's in the Westgate Village shopping center, and became part of the Barry’s crew of friends who would reunite over the years when holidays brought them back to Toledo. It was also at UT that Jason first learned his enjoyment and abilities in computer programming, which developed into his life's career as a manager at Fund Balance, a software development firm in Ann Arbor. Through his life, Jason's hobbies included metal working and a life-long enjoyment of motorcycles which started with a Garelli moped when he was thirteen. He rode it around and around in his backyard until he finally reached the age of street worthiness in Ohio. Once out on the street with a motorbike, he worked to upgrade his ride over the following years with a couple Honda motorcycles and culminating in his favorite, a 1990 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy he acquired and rebuilt during the last ten years. Despite any of Jason’s personal achievements, he is most well known as a loving father to his three amazing children. Jason most enjoyed his summer vacations spent with family at Lake Hope in southern Ohio and, in more recent years, the weeks he spent with them in New England. Jason is survived by his three beautiful children, Logan, Samantha and Mackenzie, his parents, his sister Dawn (Steve) Stanvick of Andover, Massachusetts, his aunt Marcia (Joseph) Goldberg of Fort Myers, Florida, his uncles Ron (Prudence), Daniel, and Thomas Niedzwiecki, and the mother of his children, Denise McClellan. To keep the community safe during the coronavirus pandemic, the family chose to have private services at Walker Funeral Home. The family prefers that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Jason’s honor to St Judes or another charity of their choice.
