William James Jim Rickard

William James Jim Rickard, 70, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on October 10, 1945 in Latrobe, PA, the son of Robert J. and Barbara V. (Dixon) Rickard. On June 26, 1965 in Port Clinton, OH, he married Alicia Carrizales and she survives. Jim worked as a laborer for Ford Motor Co., Sandusky, OH for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. Jim loved working on boats, cars and puzzles. But he especially loved spending time with his family, son, two grandsons and his faithful companion, his dog “Chico”. Those left to cherish his memory are: Loving Wife of 50 years: Alicia Rickard; Son: Michael J. (Suzanne) Rickard; Grandsons: Corbin Rickard and Shay Rickard; Brothers: Jerry (Lucy) Rickard, Don Rickard and Dean (Glenda) Rickard; Sisters: Mary Lee (Richard) Warren, Linda M. (Michael) Kelly and Cindy A. Tardif; many loving nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Sister of Notre Dame: Patricia Rickard, brother: John Thomas Rickard. Visitation will be from 4-7PM, Monday, June 20, 2016, in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted by Father John Missler at 10:30AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Jim, may be given to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 415, Sandusky, OH 44870 or the Ottawa County Humane Society, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, OH 43452.
