William Playford

William G. Playford, age 82, of Perrysburg, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 9, 1924 to Roland and Eva Annis Playford. Bill was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving in Europe and Japan. He was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church and the Rossford VFW Post. He was employed by Standard Pressed Steel for 27 years as Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving. Bill was very active in sports and hunting and he played baseball until the age of 41. He also enjoyed golfing with the Seniors of Toledo. Bill married the love of his life, Edna on June 12, 1948; she preceded him in death in March, 2007. Bill
