WILLIAM “JUNIOR” NAVES, JR. Junior Naves, age 87, of Holland peacefully passed away on July 22, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Junior was born in Limestone County, Alabama on April 23, 1926 to William & Sarah (Scroggins) Naves, Sr. He married Dorothy Shields in Athens, Alabama on December 11, 1948. A WW II Navy Veteran, Junior was the Pastor of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church for over 30 years as well as a freight handler for Interstate Motor Freight for over 22 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy; children, Barbara J. (William) Herzog; Doris M. (Gary) Snyder; Kenneth W. (Sandi) Naves; John A. (Angie) Naves; Richard L. (Rachel) Naves; Rebecca L. (Butch) Rahe; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Presley and Robert (Laura) Naves. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Friends will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 2-8 pm on Wednesday July 24, 2013. Visitation will continue from 11-12 Pm on Thursday July 25, 2013 at the Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova. Rd., Monclova, with funeral services beginning at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio; Cherry Street Mission or your local homeless shelter.
