William "P. Jack" Monhollen

April 12, 1935 — August 9, 2025

William "P. Jack” Monhollen, 90, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born on April 12, 1935, in Jellico, Tennessee, the son of Howard and Katherine Monhollen. P. Jack met Mary Jung in 1970, and they were married in 1973.

William was always called P. Jack. PJ was another nickname for his auction and jewelry business. He worked as a machine repairman at the American Shipbuilding Company in Toledo from 1954-1973, then at the City Auto Stamping from 1973-1992, and from 1993-1998 he worked at Acklin Stamping in Toledo.

P. Jack ran PJ’s auction and flea market on weekends in Wayne, Ohio, from 1969 to 1974. He also had PJ’s custom jewelry store on Galena Street in Toledo, Ohio, from the mid to late 70’s. He made most of his own jewelry.

After P. Jack retired and moved to Swanton, he had several horses. He enjoyed riding his horses and taking care of them. P. Jack grew up in Gatliff, Kentucky, where his parents came from. He moved to Toledo as a teenager with his parents and sisters.

P. Jack made all kinds of candy when he was in his teens until he was in his 40’s. His specialty was chocolate and peanut butter fudge. He liked to roller skate in his teens to his early twenties. P. Jack loved to dance, play his guitar, mandolin, and banjo. He loved playing Euchre and visiting his sisters and brother-in-law on weekends, sometimes playing music as well.
