William A. Maurer died at his home on April 21, 2023. He was born to his parents, James and Rhonda (Savick) Maurer on August 18, 1995, in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 2013 and went on to take classes at Owens Community College. Will overcame many health issues including being a survivor of a brain stem tumor. He was a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and got to go on a Toys R Us shopping spree.
Music spoke to Will’s heart and soul and much of his time was spent buying and trading vinyl and CDs. He loved art, especially in the form of drawing and tattoos. Cats, coffee, and concerts with his dad were some of his passions. But late-night binge watching with his mom was his favorite whenever he had a day off from the Kroger Fuel center, where he worked for five years.
Will is survived by his parents, Rhonda Maurer, James (Kelly) Maurer II; brothers, Jimmy Maurer, and Nick Maurer; step-siblings, Dana, Scottie, Bethany; grandparents, Sharon and Alex Stephens; Theresa, Tracy, Ronald, Paul, Mike and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Will had a very close relationship with his Aunt Jen. Preceding Will are his grandparents, James Sr. (Joyce) Maurer.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
