William L. Nagy, 88, of Northwood, OH, passed away on December 6, 2018. Born to Louis and Helen (Zimmer) Nagy on September 21, 1930, the second of two children, William graduated in 1948 from Olney High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force (1951-1955) as a flight engineer on the C-119 Flying Boxcar throughout the Korean War and into the early days of the Vietnam War. He held several spark plug patents and relished his work at Champion Spark Plugs for more than three decades, retiring in 1989 as the company’s director of research and development. He spent many retirement years hunting, fishing, and hiking favorite trails in the mountains of southwest Colorado, often with his son Brad Nagy, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was beloved sister, Patrizia Nagy Miller. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Rachel (Hugh) St. Martin, and one grandson. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to Heartland/Perrysburg Commons and especially to Ms. Gavigan and Ms. Colbert for uncommon faithfulness and friendship. On Monday, December 17, 2018, the family will receive friends at 11:00 am before a Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 729 White Street, Toledo. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, Oregon, OH. Online condolences may be offered at www.hoeflingerfuneralhome.com.
