William R. Landis

William R. Landis age 83 of Maumee, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 in his home. Bill was born in Maumee, Ohio on October 15, 1925 to William and Luella Brown Landis. He was employed at the Toledo Edison Company for 38 years as a lineman and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 245, VFW Post, Maumee and St. Josephs Church. Bill was a WWII veteran serving with the Navy Seabees. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his 3 grandsons. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marguerite Landis; daughters, Sharon and Terri Landis; grandchildren, Ryan Hannah Moore, Daniel Cox, Matthew Cox and sister, Marjorie Wagener. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Errington. A memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Joseph Church. www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
