William H. Knierim, Jr., 79 of Curtice, died Wednesday morning, September 12 2018, at his home. He was born August 27, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, to William H., Sr. and Edna H. (Hankenoef) Knierim. His wife Kathleen J. Knierim (King) preceded him in death on August 28, 2015. Kathleen and William were married on November 28, 1966, at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, where they both were members. For 37 years William worked as a Machinist at GM Powertrain in Toledo, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed working in the yard, woodworking, going out to eat and fishing. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and also his many great-grandchildren. Something else he loved was being part of the fire department. William volunteered for over 37 years on the Allen Township Fire Dept. in Williston (now the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District #34). Surviving William include his children, Lisa (Roger) Hart, William (Larry Turbide) Knierim III, Pamela (Lee) Lasher; grandchildren, Brandon (Emily) Hart, Stephanee (Tim) Samuelson, Amber (Senta) Lucas, William, Rex, Jason, Devon, Jesi, Jose, Tia, Mackenzie, Benjamin and Christopher Hart; great grandchildren, Rainy Mae, Bo Eugene, Bentley Mark, Kaeden Zane, Cato Maximus, Killian Tiberius, Wyatt Gabriel and Willow Wyld. William was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Joushua Allen and Matthew Thomas, and all of his siblings. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston with burial to follow in Allen Township Cemetery.
