William E. “Bill” Jacob, 68, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on November 10, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, with his family by his side. He was born on November 22, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph A. and Frances E. (Dusing) Jacob and he married Kay L. Ladd on July 11, 1970 in Toledo. Bill grew up in the Reynolds Corners area, graduating from Rogers High School in 1963. He later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo in 1969 and worked as a project manager and Executive Director for the American Heart Association until his retirement in 1986. Bill was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church serving in various local and district capacities, including Toledo District Treasurer and a charter member of Turning Point United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. He was currently serving as Treasurer for his condo association. He was also active in local elections serving as Treasurer for Wood County Engineer, Ray Huber. Bill enjoyed football and basketball and had a lifelong interest in model railroading. He was a member and officer of Division 1 of National Model Railroaders Association and Toledo Model Railroad Engineers. Bill built his own railroad layouts of model railroads. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kay L. Jacob, son, Craig E. (Leah) Jacob, grandchildren, Norah M., Luke E., and Elena N. Jacob, sister, Carol J. Jacob and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 14 at 10:00 AM in the Rossford United Methodist Church, 270 Dixie Highway, Rossford, Ohio, 43460 where a funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Turning Point United Methodist Church and Rossford United Methodist Church.
