William Murray Falvey

William Murray Falvey, age 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home on Wednesday February 24, 2016. The youngest son of James and Eleanor (Murray) Falvey, he was born September 26, 1938 in Toledo. He attended Old Orchard and DeVilbiss High School from which he graduated in 1956. Bill played baseball at DeVilbiss and as a lefty he pitched two no hitters. Following high school he enlisted in the Army and served as a medic. After being honorably discharged, he attended The Ohio State University and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Bill was recalled to active duty during the Cuban missile crisis and after his discharge returned to OSU to complete his degree. He moved to Washington DC with his father for a period of time before returning to Toledo to work for L.O.F. as an assistant to the president. Bill later worked for Boyden Associates, an executive search firm, before starting his own successful search firm, Counsel Search Co. He retired in 2004. He was a member of the Toledo Club for over 50 years as well as Toledo Rotary Club for over 30 years. He loved to walk, was an avid sports fan, and a long time season ticket holder for OSU football. Bill maintained and cherished lifelong friendships from his high school and college years. He is survived by his children, James Patrick Pat Falvey, Robin (Jonathan) Ayers; grandchildren, Avery, Abigail, and Jonathan Ayers; brothers, James Murray Falvey, Thomas (Alice) Falvey; nieces, Ellen Lynch, Kathleen Brown, Maureen Falvey and Trisha Falvey. He was preceded in death by his parents; nieces, Anne and Mary Frances Falvey and nephew, Chris Falvey. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2-7 PM at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd 2nd Floor, Bethesda MD 20814.
