William G. Covrett, age 87, of Toledo, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania. Bill was born January 27, 1920, in Fostoria, Ohio to Norris and Ruth Tallman Covrett. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served in WWII. Bill was the owner and operator of Covretts Sunoco Service Station on Monroe Street for almost 30 years retiring in 1984. He was known for his honesty and integrity. He valued his customers and treated them with respect. If a customer was temporarily out of work, Bill would let them pay for services when they were able. He received Guard of the Year award in 1995. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy. He is survived by his children, Craig Susan Covrett of Toledo, Ron Kathy Covrett of Fairview Park, OH, Marsha Kusner of Toledo, and Judy Covrett of Gulfport, FL; grandchildren, Mark Asha Covrett, Peter Covrett, Ashley Covrett, Casey Covrett, Christopher Covrett, Ben Kusner, Nick Kusner, and Matt Kusner; brother, Don Carol Covrett and sister, Norma Jean Jim Harmon and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Richard Dreher of Alexis Gardens for his kindness and friendship, and to the nurses, doctors, and staff on the 8th floor and ICU at Flower Hospital for their compassionate care in making Bills last days as comfortable as possible. Visitation will be held from 3-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Rd. where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bruce Snyder of Emmanuel Baptist Church will preside.
