William Douglas Doug Buckenmeyer, age 65, of Sylvania, passed away January 18, 2017 at Flower Hospital. He was born June 28, 1951 in Toledo to the late James Edward and LaVerne Martha (Meridew) Buckenmeyer. He married Cathy Sue Duquette on July 13, 1973 in Wauseon and she lovingly survives. Also left to cherish Dougs memory are his sons and their wives, Benjamin and Bethany Buckenmeyer and Ryan and Holly Buckenmeyer; beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Aaliyah, Kyra, Karis, Benjamin, Kate, William and Sadie; and siblings, Terry Buckenmeyer, Connie Vineyard, Tom (Jenny) Buckenmeyer, Diane Price and Mary Ann (Dan) Delventhal. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Jimmy Vineyard. A graduate of Eau Gallie (FL) High School, Doug worked as a car salesman for many years, including the past 10 years at Charlies Dodge in Maumee. He was a member of Christian Fellowship of Toledo where he served as a deacon. Doug strived to demonstrate his love for Jesus Christ by his kindness, humility and selflessness. He was always encouraging toward others and had a terrific sense of humor. In his free time, Doug enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, cooking and feeding the gold finches in his yard, but found his greatest enjoyment in time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
