William Boddy, Sr. age 84 passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from a short battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1933 in Toledo the middle son of three children born to the union of Robert and Jessie Boddy. Bill was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in 1951 excelling in baseball, earning three varsity letters and voted MVP his senior year. After graduation he was drafted in the US Army where he served two years in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and entered the Local 8 Electrician Unions apprenticeship program. He enjoyed a successful career as an electrician with his name on many projects, the latest being the Mazda plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. Bill took early retirement at age 50 and took over his late brother Bobs bar business, the former Rib Room on Sylvania Ave. An avid bowler, he once rolled a perfect 300 game at the former Imperial Lanes using a house ball and house shoes because he was running late from work. He also enjoyed golf, cards and backgammon. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Anne; brother Bob; and sister Beverly Schuler. Survivng are his sons William Bill (Jayne) Boddy, Jr. of Monroe Mi, and Robert L. Mick Boddy of Rossford; granddaughter Laura Boddy of Rock Hill SC; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Thursday from 3-8 PM where services will be held Friday at 11 AM. Interment Toledo Memorial Park.
