William D. "Wink" Werner, 67, of Genoa, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 18, 1953 to John F. and Dolores (Davis) Werner. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Genoa High School. He furthered his education and attended OSU and graduated with a business degree from the University of Toledo. Bill worked as a Union Carpenter for Local #1138/351 in Toledo until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan of many sports, following the Genoa Comets, OSU Buckeyes, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. Bill enjoyed playing men's softball, playing locally and in Fountain Hills, Arizona where he lived for a period of time. He was a huge fan of Ernesto's Restaurant in Genoa and Chinese food. Bill loved spending time with his friends and family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his partner, Phyllis Pinson; sons, Bill (Sherry) and Casey Werner; daughter, Katherine (Jeff) Luoma; 5 grandkids; sister-in-law, Sharon Werner; and a niece and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Dolores Werner; son, Curtis Werner; and brother, John "Putter" Werner. A Graveside Service will take place at Clay Township Cemetery on Saturday, October 31, 2020, beginning at 11 a.m. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, had the honor of assisting Bill's family.
