William Bill E. Ambrose, 78, of Curtice, Ohio, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Arbors of Oregon, Oregon, Ohio. Bill was born in Port Clinton, Ohio, on June 28, 1929, to Clarence and Luella Perry Ambrose. On August 14, 1971, in Coshocton, Ohio, Bill married Carol Hackenbracht and she survives. For 37 years Bill worked at Sun Oil before retiring in 1987. Bill served in the Korean War as a medic for the Army. He was a devoted boy scout leader, where he earned the Silver Beaver award and attended Philmont. As hobbies Bill loved to fish and play cards. Bill was a great husband, father, and friend and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Carol, children, Sue Ellen Ambrose, Todd Theresa Ambrose, Don Jan Ambrose, John Cheryl Ambrose, Cathy Stan Perry, Tom Lorie Ambrose, Amy Ambrose, Joseph Lorie Ambrose, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Anne Elisabeth, first wife, Rosemary Ambrose, and sister, Beatrice Ontko. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, followed with burial in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Visitation for Bill will be in the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. The family suggests memorial contributions in Bills name to the Make A Wish Foundation or the American Heart Association.
