Wilbur P. Witt, age 80 of Martin, Ohio, died April 25, 2011, at his home. He was born in Martin, Ohio, July 21, 1930, to Richard and Cora Witt. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Sharlow Witt, son, Wayne Joyce Witt, daughter, Connie Witt Cole Barry Aumaugher, grandchildren Matthew Diana Witt and Heather Witt, and great granddaughter, Kaylani. Wilbur graduated from Elmore High School in 1948 and worked for Floyd P. Bucher & Son for 30 years as a carpenter and supervisor, retiring in 1992. Wilbur was a life-long member and also served as a trustee and elder of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He was a private pilot and member of the Portage Valley Flying Club and enjoyed flying locally in his 1957 Piper Tri-Pacer. Wilbur also enjoyed traveling and was also known for always lending a helping hand to family and friends. Wilbur is also survived by siblings, Alvin Polly Witt, Richard Alice Witt, Ervin Witt, Carolyn Starnes, Joanne Pettit, Betty Roger Roberts, Ronald Sharon Witt, Kathleen John Baer, Priscilla Lehmann, and Barbara J. Witt, as well as many other nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Cora Witt, and siblings, Karl Witt, Barbara A. Witt, Anna Lane, and Mildred Smith. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church of Martin, Ohio, the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, Ohio, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
