Wilbert O. Helle, 96, of Genoa, formerly of Curtice, died early Monday morning, May 24, 2010, in the Genoa Retirement Village. Wilbert was born July 25, 1913, in Graytown, Ohio, to Otto A. and Amelia D.L. Buhrow Helle. On January 30, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, he married Vivien E. Dehnhoff, who preceded him in death April 5, 1990. After 44 years Wilbert retired from Standard Oil in Oregon, Ohio, in 1978 as an electrician and in instrumentation. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and had volunteered at the Luther Home of Mercy for many years doing electrical work. Wilbert served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He is survived by his daughter, Janice A. Huff of Midland, MI, grandchildren, Kimberly Streeter and Randall Huff, three great grandchildren, Sean D. and Alexandra Streeter and Megan K. Huff, all of Midland, MI, and brother, Reynold E. Helle of Florida. Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Clarence F. Helle and Herben H. Helle. Visitation will be 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, in St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston.
