Wendy Denise Stinebaugh, 36, of Elmore, OH died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo after an extended illness. She was born on August 20, 1976 in Sylvania, OH to Dennis L. and Barbara Jill Opfer Stinebaugh. Wendy graduated from Woodmore High School in 1994 and earned a bachelors degree in social work from Bluffton College in 1998. In 2001, she was an Americorps Child Advocate and Transitional Housing Advisor in Port Clinton, OH and also worked at the Salvation Army as a counselor teaching money management skills. Wendy enjoyed writing poetry, reading, cooking, listening to music and creating personalized treasures for family friends. She loved animals, especially her cockatiel, Sunny, and her cat, Echo. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Wendy will be remembered for her great sense of humor that she maintained throughout the ups and downs in her life. In addition to her parents, Wendy is survived by her sister, Keisa E. Chad Schwochow and beloved nieces and nephew, Kayla, Kenzie, Kelsey, and Cyle. Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold Dutch and Jacqueline Opfer. Funeral services for Wendy will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont St. Elmore, OH 43616. Interment will follow in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. Memorial contributions in memory of Wendy may be given to the Sophia Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, OH 43560.
