WENDY JANE (JACOBS) POWERS

Wendy Powers, age 65, of Toledo passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1959 to Nancy (Wiley) and Elmer (Buzz) Jacobs in Pennsylvania.

Wendy grew up in Horsham, PA, graduating from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1977. From there, she pursued her dream career in nursing, working at Abington Hospital and various nursing homes. Wendy was also an artist with a flair for interior design.

In the early 1980’s, Wendy relocated to Toledo, Ohio where she married Jim Powers, Jr. on November 17, 1983. They celebrated 27 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. During their life together, Wendy and Jim enjoyed many memorable family vacations in the Pocono Mountains as well as on the Gulf of Mexico in Venice, Florida.

Her greatest pride and joy were her two daughters, Jaclynn and Danielle. That joy multiplied with the birth of her three grandchildren. Wendy was the kind of Nana who was happiest with her two granddaughters and baby grandson in her arms. She kept a special cupboard in her family room where she stored surprise toys.

Deeply mourning her loss are her daughters Jaclynn (Justin) Belville and Danielle (fiancé Jonathon Stoye) Powers, parents Nancy and Buzz Jacobs, and grandchildren Brooklynn, Molly and Austin Bellville. Wendy was a beloved sister to Rob (Lynda), Rick (Cindy), and Tom (Michelle) Jacobs. She will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law Pat (Frank) Slanina, Susan (DJ) Kerscher, Connie (Doug) Schnitkey, and Carrie (Neil) Wakeman. She will be remembered as a kind aunt, special cousin and loyal friend. Wendy was proceeded in death by her husband, Jim, sister-in-law Angela Jacobs, father and mother-in-law Jim and Peg Powers.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 2, 2024 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, Ohio. Burial will be private. Condolences may be made online to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
