Wen Jer Wu passed away on May 7, 2022, at the age of 68. He was born August 26,1953 in Chuanghua, Taiwan to the late Lien-Fu and Li-Ching (Wang) Wu. He was the third of six siblings.
He attended graduate school on a scholarship and obtained a PhD in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University. During that time he met and married his wife of 37 years, Melissa and had twin daughters Karen and Vivian. Wen’s jobs took him and his family all over the country- California, Ohio, Texas and Michigan. He had a strong work ethic and took pride in providing for his family. Wen worked as an Engineer at Ford Motor Company before retiring in 2020. He also lectured at the University of Michigan- Dearborn. Wen found fulfillment in teaching and enjoyed helping his students learn. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Wen. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. Family was important to him. His most treasured moments were from when everyone was together. He also enjoyed being outdoors and would often explore local parks and neighboring trails.
Wen will be missed dearly by his wife, Melissa; daughters Karen (Isaac), Vivian (Jonathan); grandchildren Michael, Olivia, Julian; his siblings Susan, Sophy, Sandy, Howard and Sue. A memorial followed by inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery on Satrday, May 28 at 9am in Whittier, California.
